I know I'm late with this but I had to give KUDOS to two of my favorite Shreveport women ...
A couple of weeks ago, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Dr. Cynthia Montgomery, a self-employed physician from Shreveport, to the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. The board is comprised of seven gubernatorial appointments, subject to senate confirmation.
Dr. Montgomery used to be my OB-GYN and she's VERY good at her job. I'm so happy for her!
Governor Jindal also announced the appointment of Katrina Thomas (pictured above), a drill instructor for the U.S. Army Reserve and a real estate agent with State Farm Insurance, to the Louisiana Workforce Investment Council.
The council serves to develop a strategic plan to coordinate and integrate a workforce development delivery system to ensure efficiency and cooperation between public and private entities by advising the governor on the needs of Louisiana's employers and its work force." The council is comprised of 41 members.
