The Stage is set for two great plays this weekend ... One featuring an all-female ensemble the other featuring a group of cast of Christians ... Check them out:
In celebration of Women's History Month, the Mahogany Ensemble Theatre presents “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf”.
This Obie award-winning, spellbinding choreopoem is filled with a lively collection of vivid prose and free verse narratives about and performed by black women. Through dance, music, and poetry, the women are united in sorrow, spirit, pride and soul.
This performance, directed by Angelique Feaster, will be held at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum. The show runs both Friday and Saturday night at 7 pm. Tickets are $10-$15.

On Saturday night (on the other side of town), a gospel stage play will hit the stage at the Strand Theatre.
The phenomenal gospel stage play "Lord Save My Family" is about families who struggle with hidden secrets and family lies. The play tells a story of a young woman looks to find herself in life and love, a husband who is tired of his mundane marriage and seeks something out of the routine, and a mother who pleads for a change!
