"Women Leaders Creating Change" is the theme of this year's YWCA Celebration of Women Week.
The annual celebration actually last eight days instead of seven, and is filled will events catering to women all over the area.
The event begins Friday morning (3.6.09) with a Kick-Off Breakfast at the Robinson Film Center (at 7 am), moves into a Meditation For Inner Peace at 10 am (at the Arodasi Dance Center), continues with a panel discussion called Women In Medicine at BPCC (at 4:30 pm), and concludes with a "Street Sense" self-defense course at the YWCA on Travis Street.
And that's all in the first day!
The rest of the week-long event includes topical forums like "Women In Ministry", "Women In Politics", and "Women of Justice", plus informative and educational events like "Personal Safety for Women"; and discussions about health topics like AIDS/HIV and Dental Care.
There will also be a Luncheon, Book Signing, Art Exhibition and a panel discussion on "Growing Women Leaders".
With over a dozen events during the celebration, there is much to see, do and hear. It's definitely an event for all generations of women (and men) to enjoy and feel empowered to create change!!!
