EVENT PICS: CrowdPleaser's All-White Extravaganza

CrowdPleaser Entertainment brought in the holiday weekend with an All-White Extravaganza at Adam's Lounge Saturday night ...

Also in the house were May babies celebrating their birthdays ... some dressed in all-white and some not ... lol

The ladies controlled the dance floor (and the club) for most of the night ....

But DJ MARLE-MAR (a May baby himself) stepped down from the booth and got out on the floor a time or two as well ...

There was a lot of mingling going on ... (above) and a lot of chillin' as well (below ... I see you JB! lol) ...

(Um ... next picture ... lol)

But the best part (as with all CrowdPleaser Events) was the dancing ... The ladies (and a few gents) got out and showed off their outfits, shoes and their struttin' skills :)

Go head boy!!! (he was doing the Stanky Legg) LMAO!!! I left the event early but it was fun while it lasted ... and the fun is not over!!! ....

CROWDPLEASER ENT. has an even busier weekend coming up ... They're hosting The PHROZEN KONTROVERSY with the Alphas and Kappas of the SBC on Friday night ... and then The SWAG SURFIN Party with HowURidin' Magazine on Saturday night ... both events are at Riverview Hall ...

WEEKEND WRAP: Mudbugs, Motha Nature and Clubbin' on Both Sides of the Red!

There was a lot going on this pre-holiday weekend (being that actual observance is Monday) ...

SBC'ers were out Mudbuggin' in Festival Plaza (when the rain would allow) ... The festival wrapped up Sunday ....

See all the photos from the 4-day festival HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE. (Photos above, by Doug Collier/The Times).

And speaking of rain ... this was the sight in South Shreveport (my side of town) Saturday afternoon ...

But by Saturday night I was able to get all gussied up (yeah I said it lol) and head out to the All-White Extravaganza ... (I'm not pictured but we all had fun :) .... MORE PICS COMING SOON!

After leaving Adam's I made it over the river to GiGi's in Downtown Shreveport. There was another White Party at KoKo's apparently ... but it seemed everyone in the SBC arrived to join the GiGi's crowd at the EXACT SAME TIME ...

Yeah ... the line was HELLA Long ... We waited about an hour but my friends and I entertained ourselves with all the fashion no-nos walking up and down Commerce Street (I swear I"m gonna start doing a weekly blog on that ish) ...

When we finally got inside of GiGi's (via a $15 cover charge) the inside was just as packed. DJ SLIM kept it hype (and extra loud) until the lights came on ... and I saw some familiar faces ....

So all-in-all it was a good weekend and I'm taking the day off!!! :) I'll be back tomorrow with event updates, alerts and links to all the graduations that have happened so far in the SBC ...

So STAY LINKED!!! Be Safe and Say A Prayer for the Armed Forces ...

Ahhh, it's the weekend again. And not just any weekend but a holiday weekend! Which means MOST people have Monday to relax as well. While you're enjoying the weekend, don't forget to send a prayer and thank you to all those who gave their lives for our freedom ... after all, that is what Memorial Day is all about :)

ITEM: VIP Returns to SBC Nightlife

A lot of people (including me) have been asking where the boys of VIP ENTERTAINMENT have gone. Once a vital member of the events/promotions community in the SBC, they kinda faded into the background as the new year rolled in ...

Well VIP is returning to the scene in a MAJOR way next month ...

On JUNE 26th, VIP (now VIP ENTERPRISES) will be hosting an event at GIGI's. Total Choice will be perfoming Live, you'll get the first taste of their specialty drink called EXCLUSIVE ... AND you'll get a chance to win TWO tickets to the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans (July 3-5).

I mean damn --- that's serious .... Live Music, Drink Specials and a chance to win Essence Tickets!!! Not to mention you could win VIP Status at their next EXCLUSIVE event (which includes a limo ride!!) ... Oh! and the LADIES of VIP will be in the building too!

So mark your calendars ... Friday, June 26th ... GiGi's ... VIP returns ... Great Giveaways ... Live Music ... Beautiful Ladies ... Cool Drinks ... Another Classy Event. BE THERE!!!!

More details to come!!

BIZ BUZZ: Longhorn Steakhouse

Ok, so I know LONGHORN STEAKHOUSE has been here for a minute ... but I'm JUST NOW realizing how awesome this place is after a recent visit.

Located next to one of my favorite restaurants (Raising Cane's), this place has always been a mystery ... because it had just as many cars filling its parking lot as Cane's did on any given day. And now I know why!!!

The decor is not really my style. I'm not into western art or cowboy couture, but I wasn't hear to critique the setting ... even with a casual atmosphere, enough TV's to consider it a "sports bar" and that awful cowboy statue staring me in the face every time I looked up, it's still a quaint little place for a family outing or a casual dinner date (I was on the latter).

The bread is good (not as good as Texas Roadhouse, Ryan's or even Olive Garden, but satisfactory) and the food was AWESOME (I had the Grilled Chicken covered in Parmesan -- and I do mean COVERED ... so consider asking for LIGHT cheese lol) ... with a baked sweet potato (which was DEEEELISH) accented with butter and brown sugar ... and steamed asparagus -- to get in my veggies :) (scrumptious!!!) ...

BUT ...

What I'd definitely go back for, even if I didn't eat anything on a return visit ... was the Strawberry/Raspberry Lemonade.

If you know about the addictive lemonade that Chick-Fil-A serves (or that at Cane's) you know what I'm talking about. The kind of beverage that you drink so fast, you're sad to see it go ... and will gladly pay for a refill or two!! It was JUST THAT GOOD!!!

So if you have a little extra time (and money) and want to check out a place where you can enjoy good food and drink (and catch the NBA Finals on the big screens) ... mosey on over to LONGHORN STEAKHOUSE on Youree Drive ....

It's GOOD STUFF! :)
