Credit union plans webcasts for military
Barksdale Federal Credit Union will stage a special day to help military families send free webcast holiday messages to deployed loved ones during Operation Best Wishes.
It will be staged from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 9 at BFCU's Airline Center, 2321 Airline Drive in Bossier City.
There will be a mobile Web broadcast studio there to allow families up to 10 minutes each to record and send special greetings. Deployed family members can either watch the webcast live or access the archived recording as often as desired via a secure Web site.
Families that wish to take part need to register at www.operationbestwishes.com by selecting the "Barksdale Federal Credit Union" location in Bossier City and specifying a convenient recording time. Children can participate and families are encouraged to show up in favorite outfits or holiday attire.
The event is possible through WesCorp Federal Credit Union and the Defense Credit Union Council. The 2008 national tour is offering the service at sites in California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, New York, South Dakota, Texas, Washington and Wyoming.
