WEEKEND HAPZ: Let The Good Times Roll + Other Entertaining Events



There are lot of fun things to keep you busy this weekend in the SBC .... Along with the parties (which I'll get to later) ... there are several other events of interest:


You can spend your weekend with the Captains, See a movie at the park, Enjoy the Farmer's Market, go see the Thunder Down Under, check out Year One (Jack Black's new film -- Made In The SBC), Take Salsa lessons at Nicky's, or go see Spiderman at WaterTown.

IN OTHER WEEKEND EVENT NEWS:





TIDEWATER is back on stage at the LSUS Black Box Theater this weekend. The cast includes: Crystal Brown-Tatum, Renee Caldwell, Charles Montgomery, Tileda Moore, Ariane Perideaux, Harvard Taylor, Barbara Webber-Hall, Kaylah Paige Williams, and Tianna Williams. Because of mature themes, the production is only suitable for ages 13 and up.

Tidewater has themes best suited for audiences 13 and over. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. $10 for Students/Educators/Seniors/Military/Groups.

Also in town all weekend long -- The LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL FESTIVAL (aka Juneteenth). The event kicks off inside Festival Plaza, beginning Friday at Noon.


Performers scheduled over the weekend inclued national favorites like ZAPP, MELVIN WILLIAMS, LATTIMORE, PRETTY RICKY and JOE. ... as well as Local favorites like WINDSTORM, INTUTION, VICKIE BAKER, DORSEY SUMMERFIELD, CHOCOLATE RIVER, BILLY BROADWAY (who I recently spotlighted) and K.P.


The Radio Group is sponsoring the second stage of performances but the entire festival is put on every year by RHO OMEGA and FRIENDS.









AND NOW .... FOR THE PARTY PEOPLE:




Unless you've been hiding under a socially-inhibited rock ... you know that FRIDAY night it's going down at ENCORE as the MARCHE' GROUP presents their regionally-famous "N THE MIX MIXER". Last time, there were over 1,000 people in attendance, so expect the same turnout this time around.


There will be a DJ and LIVE BAND, plus a performance by BILLY BROADWAY with MARK SCROGGINS.


Tickets for the mixer are close to selling out (as of this post) ... They are available through Marche' Group members as well as several ticket outlets (see the flyer) ... They are $15 in advance and even more at the door!. This event is for the GROWN and SEXY ... 21 and UP.







On the Other Side of the River, the YOUNG & FLY will be partying it up at the HOLIDAY INN-Downtown as SHREVEPORT NIGHTLIFE presents the FRIDAY NIGHT MIX.

Doors open @ 9 PM. The first 50 Ladies get in FREE!!! For everyone else, Admission is ONLY $10.0o. (Discounted admission for GREEKS in paraphernalia) .

Dress fly for the on-site photographer to capture your swagger! Ca$h prizes awarded to the flyest Males and Females in the building!!! KMJJ's DJ PHAT will be on the 1's n 2's providing your sounds.

This event will happen EVERY Friday night during the summer ... and part of the proceeds goes to the Boys & Girls Club ... So it's a party with a CAUSE! :)

It's SOPHISTICATION at Adam's Lounge ... with CROWDPLEASER ENTERTAINMENT.

DJ Marle-Mar will be providing the music .... and The Grown & Sexy of the SBC will be in the building. Doors open at 9 pm.
