WEEKEND HAPZ: First Weekend of June = Comedy, Film & LOTS of Fun!

There are lot of COMMUNITY, FAMILY and ARTSY events going on in the SBC this weekend ...

• American Violet is showing at the RFC (Click HERE to learn more about the movie).
• There is free fishing this weekend at several state parks.
• Comedian Michael Colyer is playing the Funny Bone Friday and Saturday nights
• The Battlewings have a home game Saturday night ...
• There's a car/bike/truck show at the raceway
• The Greeks will be out and about for the NPHC's Greek Fun Weekend
• and there are lots of community events and fundraisers going as well ...
  

Now ... if none of that entices you and you just want to party ... here's the hapz on this weekend's nightlife:

ON FRIDAY:

RONALD HAYES PRODUCTIONS will host a First Friday Mingle at the BIJOU ULTRA WINE BAR (formerly McArthur's Steakhouse) in the Red River District. The event begins at 8 pm and will feature Live entertainment from Jazz/R&B band TOTAL CHOICE.

I also have on my calendar that the Shreveport NPHC will be hosting a reception at the same venue tonight. That event begins at 5:30 pm ... Sign in to compete is from 5:30-8:00. There's a competition for the most attendees from each fraternity and sorority. Admission is $10.

Across the river ... ENCORE will be the site for SO FLY FRIDAYS Tonight. The party begins at 9 pm. Admission is $15 at to door, or you can get an advance ticket at either K&D CLOTHING (3921 Hollywood Ave.) or THE MIX SHOP (3940 Lakeshore Dr.)

For you dancers, there will be a Swing Out contest from 9-10 pm, for a $100 cash prize!!! So get there early -- Dress to Impress.







ON SATURDAY:

Sophisticated Saturdays return to Adam's Lounge in Bossier City (after a busy past weekend for CrowdPleaser Entertainment) ... Doors open at 9 pm. Classy atmosphere, no drama and DJ Marle-Mar will be on the 1s and 2s (plus most drinks are only $5!!!)





ON SUNDAY:

And on Sunday .... the party for the Young and Sexy will be held at the Ramada Inn in Bossier City ... Where FreakBoy ENT and Flawless INC. will present "Xclusive Sundays".

Doors open at 9:30 pm. First 100 guests get discounted admission! This event will take place EVERY Sunday throughout the summer! !



JUST A NOTE:


The ATSBC Crew tries to get to as many events as possible but it doesn't always happen!!! Whatever we do though, you'll see it right here at AROUND THE SBC.

• We'll be at the Bijou mingling for First Friday ...
  
• We'll be at Lil' Joe's Tavern on Saturdaynight supporting BILLY BROADWAY AND FRIENDS (show starts around 10 pm ... "Friends" include KP, LJai and Navajo) ... and
  
• We'll TRY to get out to Gilliam for the HOW U RIDIN' show on Sunday.
