Common Sense Americans -- I mean Obama Supporters -- worldwide are still celebrating a week after Senator Barack Obama became President-elect Barack Obama.
Photos are still pouring into the national media, and soundbytes and interviews are being re-run on CNN every day.
Here in the SBC, The Shreveport Times was pushed to reprint THOUSANDS of copies of Wednesday's newspaper (which I stayed up all night to get a copy of) for SBC residents who didn't get a copy. They distributed the papers Monday to waiting crowds (and retailers) and quickly sold out AGAIN.
I live in an apartment complex and in the machine I got mine from, there were only five copies (including the display).
If you didn't get a copy, you may be out of luck but the Times IS selling commemorative posters of the history-making front page.
The Times website also has some GREAT galleries, from our local election night party and from all over the world.
The Times' photographer even got a shot of me at the watch party (and those who know me KNOW I don't do pictures lol).
Even though the local Obama office has shut down, you can still support the cause.
The OBAMA website is selling commemorative t-shirts (with a donation) as well as other mementos you may want to snag for future generation.
The website (along with supporters nationwide) is also planning for the inauguration on January 20th. Go to www.barackobama.com to see what's being planned.
So far I know there's a bus trip to DC being planned in Baton Rouge, but if you hear about anything locally, please let me know!
CHANGE IS HERE PEOPLE!!!
