There's a LOT going on this holiday weekend in the SBC. With all the hype about the HUGE Marche' Mixer (more on that later), a lot of other events have got lost in the madness ... but I'm here to dig 'em up and inform you, the public.
We'll get to the more family-oriented events later but for those coming into to town to enjoy the SBC Nightlife ... here's what's poppin' this weekend!:
ON FRIDAY (Tonight) :
Of course the biggest party happening tonight (and probably this weekend) is the Marche' Group's N DA MIX Mixer. This time they're back on the Shreveport side of the river at the new Convention Center (on Caddo St.) ...
These mixers have become a local favorite, bringing together collegiates, professionals and local celebs under the same roof to mingle and network.
Doors open at 9 pm. Parking is available in the garage. If you didn't get a pre-sale ticket, expect to pay up for admission and DRESS TO IMPRESS. Must be 21 to get in!!!
Live entertainment will be provided by MARK SCROGGINS and his band, along with local fav BILLY BROADWAY. JAY-TEK will be on the 1's and 2's for the rest of the night.

FOR THE FIGHT FANS ...
DOWN THE STREET ... Also on Friday ... TEAM 3:16 will present THE BATTLE OF THE BADGES - POLICE vs FIREMEN - SLUG FEST '09.
This event will take place at the Municipal Auditorium. The fights will take place from 8 to 11 pm.
Proceeds Gained Will Be Donated To: CHIEF TOMMY ADAMS and COLONEL BARRY HORNSBY
ON SATURDAY:
The BIJOU WINE BAR will host one its infamous wine tastings. If you haven't been to one, it's a MUST ... (check out the last one HERE).
Event-goers will be treated to tasting a variety of wines from Moscotos to Merlots... and you'll be able to try the latest Vodka to hit the market!
If you have friends and family in town, bring them out too. The atmosphere is contemporary and the crowd is classy ... Admission is $10.

The SHREVEPORT LABOR DAY BLUES FEST is bringing some of the genre's hottest acts to FESTIVAL PLAZA.
TK Soul, Carl Sims, Jeff Floyd, Wilson Meadows, O.B. Buchanna, T. Broussard, Luther Lackey, Diddley Quat, and more will entertain the SBC this Sunday, Sept. 6th.
Tickets are $15, in advance; $20, at the gate. Ticket outlets are Lil' J's, On Time Fashion, Vernon's, Lakeshore All Around Sounds, Disc Daddy and others ... The show starts at 2 pm and continues all night long!!!
ALSO THAT NIGHT ...
Back at the Bijou, DEM DIGNITARIES/Lifestylez Entertainment Group will host NUVO NIGHT. Admission is $10 in advance, $20 at the door. For more information, call 318-834-8814.

Don't forget that Football Season HAS BEGUN!!!
High schools will play their first regular season games this weekend (see the side panel for local games) ... and Colleges will hit the field as well (Go HERE for those schedules). And don't forget, the RFC will be showing the LSU game on Saturday!!!
