If you were reading my blog around this time last year, you were introduced to the SOUTHERN BLACK THEATRE FESTIVAL -- A celebration of performing arts hosted by the Mahogany Ensemble Theatre. Well the SBTF is back for it's 2nd year after an AMAZING inaugural year in 2008.
This year's theme is "Cultivating the Creativity Within", and events are catered to the Youth of the SBC.
Organizers are matching them up with professional artists for one event and letting them showcase THEIR talents at another.
The festival lost its honorary chair this summer -- Judi Ann Mason. I met her at last year's festival and I know she'd be proud of the local efforts to inspire aspiring artists :)
