SBC 411: Drew Brees Raffle, Vitter Town Hall & Cruisin For a Cure

Raffle To Benefit Bloxoms Under Way

A raffle is under way at Tiger Town in Shreveport for a football autographed by New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, with proceeds to assist the family of Justin M. Bloxom, the 12-year-old Stonewall boy who was killed March 30.

Tickets for the football are $10 each. The drawing will be June 4. (BTW: The football retails for $599.99)






Vitter to Hold Town Hall Meeting in Bossier City


U.S. Sen. David Vitter, R-Metairie, will hold a town hall meeting this Friday, April 30th in Bossier City.

It will be at 10 a.m. in the Performing Arts Theater at Bossier Parish Community College, 6220 E. Texas St. That is in Building C, on the west side of the campus. The topic of his stop is "Forum on Family Safety."

Vitter is running for re-election in the fall.







Cruisin' For a Cure in Minden, Saturday


The seventh annual Cruisin' for a Cure car show, which raises money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Dorcheat Historical Foundation Museum, will be held rain or shine Saturday, May 1st on the fair grounds in Minden.

The show is open to cars, motorcycles, tractors and anything that rolls, organizer Schelley Brown said. Other activities include a silent auction, raffle items, a $500 drawing and food by Jimmy Hall and Party Express Catering of Minden.
