Communities around the SBC will mark National Night Out this evening with block parties and cookouts.
Residents will join forces with law enforcement and firefighters to promote crime and drug prevention, encourage participation in anticrime programs, strengthen police-community partnerships and let criminals know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Most communities in the U.S. celebrated National Night Out back in August but the SBC decided to postpone the event until the weather was cooler, in hopes of a greater turnout. Hopefully the predicted rain will stay away long enough for communities to gather for the events.
Most parties will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. today. Check out the communities hosting block parties in SHREVEPORT and BOSSIER CITY (click the city names to pull up a PDF file).
And take some time out to enjoy some food and fellowship with your neighbors tonight!!!!
BE SAFE PEOPLE! :-)
