EVENT PICS: Pics You May Have Missed (Cuz I'm late putting them up)

These past couple of weeks have been WILD ...

More celebrity deaths than we can keep up with, me dealing with personal issues related to my art, and then a long holiday ... It's been a long process getting back to normality.

But I haven't forgotten you, my beloved site visitors, and as promised, here are the pics I was going to post last week:

Stromile Swift's SWIFT FOUNDATION Celebrity Weekend was held the last weekend of June. Events included a visit to the Biz Camp Marketplace, A MARYTHON (in memory of his late mother, Mary), a Bowling Challenge (that I hear lasted around FIVE HOURS!) and of cousre some fun stuff for the grown folks.

On Friday, June 26th he held a MEET & GREET at the Horseshoe Riverdome. Some of his b-ball buddies joined him for the evening.

And some b-ball fans showed up to get some memorabilia signed ...

There was also some AMAZING food, drink and LIVE entertainment from WINDSTORM ...

I see you Lisa!!! .... LOL ... I had to leave early but it was still fun while I was there :) (PHOTOS: mahogani media)

THE NEXT NIGHT .... (Saturday, June 27th)

Stro and the Swift Foundation hosted the Black and Red Affair at Encore Nightlife (in Bossier City). Folks definitely "dressed to impress" for the charitible night out:

THIS brother got MY vote for Best Dressed of the evening ... :)

But the one, below, (shout out to the "bow-tie guy" came a close second! :)

The fundraising weekend ended on Sunday, June 28th ... with a FUN DAY at the PARK ... held at the Southern Hills Metro Center.

There was music, games and a chance to take pics with (and get autographs from) Stromile himself.

Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover even stopped by to say HI (and drop off a check for $500):

This was the Swift Foundation's first year hosting the weekend. Stromile told me that the community received all the events well.

It took the Foundation around a year to put the whole thing together and get some AMAZING sponsors (like Addidas!!!). Stromile says it was much needed to help raise awareness.

His mother passed away from Kidney Disease this past January, and he just wants to prevent patients and families from having to go through what his mother and family went through by getting them better education and better resources.

Much of the proceeds from the weekend's events will go to the National Kidney Disease Foundation of Louisiana.

No word yet on how much was raised but the Swift Foundation plans to make this an annual event. I'm sure Stromile (and his sister, who was a major organizer of the event) made mama proud :)

  • SEE ALL MY PICS from the ENTIRE weekend HERE. (Shouts out to Stromile, Amanda and Pavunae for all their help!!)

There are other event pics I forgot to post ... so check them out:

AND STAY TUNED FOR MY (LATE) PICS FROM THE MICHAEL JACSON TRIBUTE CEREMONY ON 6/27 AT THE LOUISIANA BOARDWALK as coverage begins tomorrow of the MAJOR ceremony in L.A.!!!
