Well that was then ... and here's KID now! He's not doing splits and making up cool new dances ... and he's not "spittin' dope rhymes" anymore. Now, he's a stand-up comic. And you'll get to see this 80s/90s legend right here in the SBC on the stage of the Funny Bone Comedy Club.

One of my favorite TONI MORRISON novels hits the stage of the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum .... the Mahogany Ensemble Theatre will present their adaptation of BLUEST EYE.
"The Bluest Eye" is a tragic story of a black girl's coming of age in the racially turbulent 1940s. Eleven-year-old Pecola Breedlove prays for her eyes to turn blue so that she will be beautiful, so that people will love her, so that her world will be different.
This novel has been adapted for the stage by Lydia R. Diamond, and is directed by Angelique Feaster This play explores mature themes not suitable for ages 8 and under.
The cast: Mary Thompson, Erin Lorio, Nia Savoy, Ashlei Alford, Jori Jackson, Wilma Young, Neverlyn Townsel, ShaGlenda Ary, Capel Rone,Samuel Harris, Tunya Williams, Rhandi-Alexis Williams, Lisa O'Neal and Gardon Handy
The show runs May 14-16. There's a show each night at 7:30 pm. On the 16th (Sat.) there is an additional early show at 4 pm. (Doors Open 30 minutes before show time).
