EVENT ALERTs: Party & Concert Celebrate Historic Win

I'm honestly still in shock about the amazing events of this past Tuesday. My President not only looks like me, but he thinks and feels and wants to make America better -- like me. I'm still compiling personal blogs and articles about this historic event, but other people in the SBC are getting ready to celebrate in their own way this weekend:

Friday night, November 7th, the Party Pushaz, along with FreakBoy Ent. will host a "My President Is Black" party at Phat Katz Lounge on the corner of Greenwood Road and Curtis Lane.

Attire is ALL BLACK (no plain t-shirts, no du-rags, no smoking!).

This party will be a zero-tolerance event planned to celebrate Barack Obama's historic win. So come out and celebrate and leave the BS at home!!! This is a night of celebration, not foolishness!

Discounted admission for those in the proper attire. Doors open at 9 pm. (The regular weekend party continues the next night at the same place, same time).

On the other side of the river, on Saturday night (November 8th), an R&B concert will be paired with a celebration centered around the first Black President.

Singer/songwriter/producer TANK will perform at Club ENCORE (formerly RWB/Saddle Ridge) on Saturday.

Tickets for the event are available at BossMan Barber World, Phazes Hair Salon, Vernon's Barber Shop (in Bossier City), Lil' J's and Lakeshore All Around Sounds.

It's been years since Tank has been in the SBC. We last heard from him musically in 2007 with the release of Sex, Love & Pain. The album gave us hits like "Please Don't Go" and "Heartbreaker."

He's in the studio now working on album number four. He's also planning a tour with new multi-artist group TGT (Tank, Ginuwine, and Tyrese). That ought to be REAL interesting.

With a body like his, Tank could sing the alphabet and I'd love it. I'm hoping to hear my favorite Tank song "Slowly." That one performance would make my week!

Come out dressed to impress and enjoy some good music and celebrate HIStory!!!!

As always -- party hard but party SAFE!!! -- m
